Just tried sensorless, does not work from a dead stop at all. Reducing sensorless open loop rpm from 2000 to <1000 solved the problem and I can't get it to jitter or cut out at all now. Thanks for the help.

I am pairing a VESC with a BBS02 right now myself. I am using a Forumscontroller as a pre-controller and could e.g. give the VESC a signal ranging 1-4V to control the current, just like a twist throttle or thumb throttle would.

Can anyone tell me, how to make the connection with the VESC, what how to program it to use the analogue signal for current control. I don't need reversing or braking.

you could just use the ADC function, that should be pretty simple. connect your votage signal from the controller to the ADC pin on the vesc and in the BLDC tool choose ADC in the app configuration, there you can set the upper and lower voltage range and other stuff.

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly, what I just did and it works fine.
The only thing that's problematic, is the FOC without sensors. Starting up seems a little rough and one time it didn't work for a few tries.

I'm looking for a controller for a direct hub motor. I'm just a bit experienced with vesc now and I like it. should work fine I assume?

Guys,

I have an e bike throttle and vesc on my goped. I can't find a way to make it working with vesc. Can anybody guide me through. Thanks.

Connect throttle to vesc. Connect battery to vesc, connect motor to vesc. Make it work. Done!

I've tried all different things with the VESC and the BBS02 to no avail.

I just hooked up the BBSHD just now and the result is the same. The motor "sings" much louder than it does with the original controller.

Here is an interesting implementation of VESC and ForumsController for e-bike, it use similar to BBS001/002 middrive:

I have 2 on me ebike, it work well with only one too.
You will have similar power as the Kelly you have
Will not need much cooling at 25A phase current, fresh air from bike movement should be ok.

Do you have any problems with pedaling and the vesc on your bike?
