MINI compatible with VESC® Software

If you plan to make a group order, if you have spare VESCs or parts for sale etc. you can post that here.

Lovely, that will save me a lot of work. A big thank you!

Just for your (and others') information: I could not import the mojaKniznica library for some reason (again, this is with kicad-4.0.7). KiCad just said "Status: FAILED" - very unhelpful. But I copied the 2512Rv2, 5x3.2KRISTALL, and WE-MAPI files into kicad_subory.pretty/ and changed the mapping in CvPcb to use those components from that library instead.

After generating a new netlist and importing it into Pcbnew I get a few unconnected nets (SHn, LIn, HIn where n=1, 2, 3, and nets of Q2, Q4 and Q6), and also quite a few DRC errors. (Again, that is with the next-to-newest commit, 7896bc3). I think this has something to do with the LM5113 - these are 10-pin chips, and use a 10-pin footprint, but are only 8-pin in the schematic?

Edit: And more to the point, the pin numbering on these seems wrong: i.e. pin 4 is not HS but HOL, etc.

I have a motor XM7010HD. That is problematic . . .
Samples of assembled PCB MINI compatible are arrived.

Great project. A few questions:

Does it use the same identical firmware?

Could you use a smaller/cheaper stm32?

Does it not need the large external electrolytic caps with all those ceramic?

Yes but with different hwconfig.

Could you use a smaller/cheaper stm32?

smaller yes (10x10mm bga), IDK about cheaper than this https://lcsc.com/product-detail/ST-Microelectronics_STMicroelectronics_STM32F405RGT6_STM32F405RGT6_C15742.html

Does it not need the large external electrolytic caps with all those ceramic?

Yes. If you don't go above 30A you should have no problem.

Thanks for the reply. I'm very interested to build one of these.

Can you solder it with a $5 soldering iron? It looks like the mosfet and gate drivers require hot air?

This uC is cheaper, can it work?

or evencheaper:

I use metal stencil and reflow owen. I can't imagine doing it other way.

No, unless you rewrite whole code and accept worse performance (maxRPM,startUP).

And the STM32FxxxCxxx processors have 48 (or 49) pins, while the STM32FxxxRxxx have 64 (among which is the STM32F405Rxxx on the VESC).

Hello,
very nice work. I just ordered 3 PCBs from OSH for testing this nice little controller.
One question, is it possible to use only a 2S battery? I'd like to test it in a 10th scale RC car.

Thanks,
Andreas
