Hey guys, I was wondering if you've ever had anyone use one of the VESCs for making a camera gimbal. Trying to make a camera gimbal where I can just tell the motors exactly what angle to go to. Do you think the VESC would be the right tool for the job?
I've been looking into many options for driving BLDC outrunner motors for a camera gimbal and this seems like a good option. I believe a good configuration would be FOC control with an absolute encoder on an outrunner BLDC motor. Does this seem reasonable?
The other options I've found are TI motor control (which would be more custom), or some special ICs like this one for controlling individual axes: https://www.digikey.com/en/product-high ... oller-chip
