Discussions regarding the Field Oriented Control (FOC) implementation on the VESC.

From what I have read people are saying that FOC can increase the efficiency of a motor by about 15%. The limiting factor for motors is heat, so this should mean that you can run 15% more current to generate the same amount of heat. What are people actually seeing in terms of increased power and torque under FOC control if anything? You may have to increase voltage to get the same amount of power, but at the end of the day watts are watts.
