BLDC driving without DRV8302

Postby lll7 » 23 Sep 2016, 08:35

Hi, good job with VESC!
I wonder did You consider to drive MOSFETS without DRV8302. I mean instead of DRV8302 use some low voltage transistors to drive power MOSFETS. Whole current calculating, hal sensors, and PMW handling could by done inside STM32. Did you thought about that approach?

A "fet driver" is a chip that has several hundreds of transistors optimized for the function of driving a fet. You can buy separate ones like the LM5109, or three-together like the DRV8302.

If you think you can do better than the integrated solutions, show me!
