Re: code to change the motor amp limit

thats' way too much math. Assuming 50% throttle is 50% duty is what I did.

Re: Motor saturation

if you were to saturate the core it's more of a plateau effect and not a cliff. the vesc has a temp sensor to protect it from getting too hot.

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

using this simulator and comparing the same system but replacing the 36 volt pack at 100% throttle with a 72volt pack at about 50% throttle and getting the same speed the high voltage system is shown to lose one percent efficiency. To me that seems an insignificant loss for double the potential spee...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

Hey I have no rebuttal with science. I don't know what current actually occurred and I'll get back to 160 motor and at least look at that, the one one thing I know for sure, which in a way is everything, it rode great. The amp limits are two things it seems, both the true limit and also the speed at...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

As I said i don't ride 200 anymore as I'm on two motors and also tame it down to 160 as people said it was too dangerous, but this pic was at maybe 60 motor amps and I forget now. To me 200 motor amps was the best performance I've ever had as you say. I'm looking for the best performance as I imagin...

Yuk yuk. What more you want. This is the most my thing has been able o record so far for some reason. Some of us don't even have a computer anymore. I was using a flip phone for the last year as well. We all aren't so techy

Re: How should the VESC "feel" on a board?

Nope it's me solo. if my nubiiness is too much for you block me but the original poster asked a question which is valuable to me and Devin and anyone who wants low speed torque and it didn't seem fully answered. The startup boost is said to jump the early duty cycle and be too abrupt, far from smoot...

Re: How should the VESC "feel" on a board?

with .13 motor winding resistance and max speed still being likely only 80% of the no-load speed I don't think you'd have a problem getting 10 amps as the back voltage and front only need a 1.5 voltage difference to get it. Maybe it's not as simple as ohms law though. Sadly the new 6 is then less ab...

Re: How should the VESC "feel" on a board?

Vedder are you saying that if I were to disconnect or break my phase wire while the motor was given a lot of current, there would be a huge onrush of voltage building throughout the circuit, but before there would be a high voltage last spark through the air there at the break of the circuit, the hi...
