Re: DRV died when connect small load

In my opinion the only difference between the two versions is the packaging. One in reel and one in tube. Look into the (same) data sheet. Mouser reads in the "typical total gate charge" for one version and the "max total gate charge" for the other version. So the packaging...

Re: VESC NRF NUNCHUK WARNING!

The timeout bug is fixed, and should be solved when I upload FW3.0 with 3-shunt support for the VESC6 (which works really well so far). For the possible nrf bug I will add sequence numbers in addition to an extra crc to the packets. In addition to the "sequence numbers". One thing that I ...

Re: VESC NRF NUNCHUK WARNING!

Thanks for your answer Benjamin. I hope my answers are detailed enough. I'm sorry to hear that this happened. There is a timeout thread in the code that will stop the motor when no command has been received for more than a configurable time (1000ms default). A configurable brake current can also be ...

Re: VESC NRF NUNCHUK WARNING!

Did you use original nrf chips? I've had quite some weird results from using Chinese crappy ones I don't know if they are original NRF chips. I don't think so. The SMD NRF24L01s used on the nuchuk PCB are always from the same source i think. And in my opinion they are all not original chips. Before...

Re: VESC NRF NUNCHUK WARNING!

Things like these should have a hardware stop button accessible by foot.. Either cutting the battery power or shorting the motor wires together. Yes, that would be the next step to go. I am thinking right now about a switch that turns on the electronics just when I stand on the board. So a button t...

VESC NRF NUNCHUK WARNING!

Hey guys, just want you to know that it is dangerous (my opinion) to use the NRF nunchuk right now. Today I got a disconnect which was resulting in a unstoppable full speed. No chance to reconnect over one kilometer with full throttle (looks like the safety feature to turn off was not working) ended...

Re: FAULT_CODE_ABS_OVER_CURRENT

Yes, it was not the DRV. Have fixed the problem now. One shunt had a bad solder connection. After adding some new solder to it, it is now working without a problem. Needs some hours to find that, because it was not optical visual.

Re: FAULT_CODE_ABS_OVER_CURRENT

Bad update on that one. It looks like it really is a big hardware problem. I figured out, that the fault occurs, when I bend the PCB a bit. Then the red LED is flashing and I get the Over_Current fault. When turn on the VESC without connecting it to the bldc tool, or without giving a little bit of t...

Re: Nunchuck Schematic NRF SPI

No, just R10 is soldered. I can solder the others later, but that makes no sense when everybody is using all. (so everybody with address 15)
That makes the "different ID" feature useless.

Re: Bluetooth

No, I don't use it, but I want to use it. But that doesn't work as I have stated above.

I just want to use it for your point 2 (Configure the VESC with BLDC tool without the usb) and also for getting realtime data.
Not for the remote control.
