Re: Ideal MOSFETs

Nice find. Interesting how small the package of these MOSFETs is. You can almost put four of them on the same space you can put a IRFS7530, when neglecting the layout . :)

Re: Thermal analysis, capacitors, battery cable length

Nice video. I think I learned a lot from it. Do you also tested thermal paste instead of thermal pads? The pads I found on conrad have a Thermal Conductivity of 6W/mK. I have prolimatech PK-1 paste laying around, that I used for my CPU with 10.2W/mK. Maybe it would be worth a try. The only problem w...

Re: vesc on a multicopter

I haven't heard of that. I think mostly because of the price and the erpm limit which should stay below 60000 erpm to not destroy the DRV. So you would need a very low kv motor with larger blades.

Re: Driving bldc motors from mains (230V AC)

What voltage and current are you aiming for? I think there are suitable power supplies out there cheaper than the VESC. I think you don't need a expensive lab supply with a high voltage accuracy. I don't know if adding some battery isn't to expensive, dangerous and complicated, when you don't need f...

Re: Encoder problem

Look at the schematics. R11 to R13 are part of the filter.

R11-R13 must be removed. No jumper, just remove.

R8-R10 must be jumpered. You can do that with a "solder Jumper" or a 0 Ohm resistor. Also resistors near 0 Ohm like 2.2 Ohm ore anything like this should work.

Re: Encoder problem

What did you do with R11 to R13 and with R8 to R10?
I hope you removed R11 to R13 and replaced R8 to R10 with 0 Ohm resistors.

Re: VESC upgraded components

I think Chaka is using something in this direction:
Not cheap at all, but it is an upgrade. :D

@lizardmech Would be cool if you can answer my questions to the TL783.

Re: VESC upgraded components

@akira You haven't soldered your first VESC as yet when you say you will order the components in the future?!? The over half a year never ending story. But now to your real question. I think Chaka updated both C37 and C51 capacities to higher capacity ones. Maybe also adding bigger...

Re: Smoke and +5v power line issue

I had this problem when one shunt wasn't soldered correctly. I checked that it was a loose connection with a multimeter. Touching the shunt a bit on the PCB and I get 0 Ohm. When I don't touched it, it was not connected. But as you has stated you have already checked that. My next step would be chec...
