Re: Measuring pole count in BLDC tool

@rew Have done three new screenshots at 40% duty cycle with a decimation of 1 (to see that it looks like a sine), 4 and 12 (to see if I find any pattern). But from a quick look I don't see a pattern. @e-biker It is a MXUS hub motor, but I found on the web some people saying it has 48 poles and other...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

That is not odd at all. The "red lines" (also known as motor current and battery current) have correlated shapes when the duty cycle is near at its max value of 95%. The value where to battery current is "capped" is not an arbitrary value. Its the 50A max battery current that I h...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

Maybe you need an evidence to believe me. In the picture you can see an extract from one of my logs. My max motor current was set to 150A my max battery current to 50A. Do you see me hitting 150A motor amps? I used full throttle.

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

Because I think you don't changed the shunts to different ones (from 1mOhm to 0.5mOhm), yes you can't sense that high. I don't belittle you, I am just tired to answer you the same thing aging and again. I think you don't get the point that you didn't rode many miles at 200motor amps , but rode many ...

Re: Measuring pole count in BLDC tool

Hey rew, thanks for your answer. Why do you think my motor is of a higher quality than your ones? Just because it looks like an almost nice sine and every period looks nearly the same? I did the plot a lot of times to get that nice sine. I need to use a high throttle command from the accelerator thr...

I think he is asking again what he already has asked on this forum (here: http://vedder.se/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=643 ; here: http://vedder.se/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6&p=3712#p3712 ; here: http://vedder.se/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=371 ; etc.) and even more often on the elec...

Measuring pole count in BLDC tool [probably solved]

Hey guys, is there a way to measure the pole count of a motor with the VESC and BLDC-Tool? I have a quite big motor, but don't know the exact pole count and don't want to open it just to get that value. I just know that it should have a lot of poles. :D I read in that thread (http://vedder.se/forums...

Re: rpm value

I think you can get the erpm value from the VESC over the UART port and then calculate the actual rpm with your known pole count.

Re: PWM output

Maybe that thread is interesting for you:

When I get it right the port with the 2.54mm header is used for the Servo output. But I am not sure and haven't tested anything regarding Servo output.
