VESC v4.10 and battery cable length

Made some tests with different VESCs on FW 2.8/FOC and realized, that the cable length between capPCB pads and battery matters. While a VESC with 38cm (no intention!) cables still runs under BLDC, it doesn't under FOC and generates a lot of errors. After cutting the cables to 20cm everything was fin...

Re: serious disturbance in the signal

You might need to setup each VESC individually on the app tab, and after "write config" always klick on "reboot" too, else it's not correctly taking the values. I assume you're running those 6s packs in parallel? Or are you using them in series like 12s? Background is that 12s an...

Re: serious disturbance in the signal

Ok, that sounds interesting! To help you, we might need some more information on the used setup, like motor types, battery, are you using FOC or BLDC, is motor detection working properly, etc.?

Re: serious disturbance in the signal

Just for understanding: Are you using CAN-bus? Why not passing the signal through CAN instead of connecting each one?

Re: FOC on 12S - HW4.7 & 4.10

I have good results on all the motors on 2.6 and 2.7 on HW 4.10 but still need to test them outside. Just thinking of any difference between our setups: the only difference of course are the motors, but are you still using your personalized setup of the capPCB? As far as I understand you didn't chan...

Re: FOC on 12S - FW4.7 & 4.10

Just to make sure that the HW is ok I'd be happy to send Benjamin a sample of our VESCs 4.10 for a checkup.

Let's see what happens with your tests - I will also test further motors with 48V and FOC.

Re: 2 new VESC not working , need some help

Besides some loose strands on the power wire I can't see to much, but in general when the red lights are on there must be something wrong on the HW side. For a comparison you might want to have a look on those (I used a magnifying glass, that's why the pictures seem a little bit "bended" ;...

Re: 2 new VESC not working , need some help

Just two things: are you using the VESCs through can-Bus? If so, try to configure the second (not working one) as a stand alone to test. If it works stand alone make sure that you got the setup for the slave right: slave needs to have ID 1 (master needs to have ID 0), enable "send status over c...
