Re: "Peak Efficiency" Control Mode?

if your most efficient speed is 25mph and youre starting from 0 but limited in your ability to accelerate you will lull around in inefficiency for a longer time as it takes longer to get to the efficient speed. it seems easier to use your "internal computer" in choosing what amount of acce...

vesc with sensors efficiency

could someone link me to it if it's already written somewhere but how much more efficient running foc with sensors vs foc without sensors and at what rpms is it relevant? anyone do a comparison? I ask because sensors are a pain in the ass to put in and seem just another part to break. if they don't ...

Re: The Min Speed of BLDC with VESC ??

Rew do u know how much more efficient a slow speed high torque motor would be with or without sensors? It's hard to get a reliable temp reading on a motor but they seem to run ten to fifteen degrees cooler with sensors. That's a lot Also at what rpm will it switch out of sensor mode to plain bldc wh...

Re: VESC not allowing feathered braking when going downhill slowly

are you sure its not just the transmitter? I've used transmitters that had trouble modulating brakes going downhill, the steez remote for one. have you tried the mini trigger it seems to have the best modulation for me.

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

I agree that the resistance is proportional to kv. Yes. I haven't disagreed on that. I still don't believe it causes it. Magnetic inductance I believe decides kv/kt (which are inverse). The conversion of turns physically of the wire ,with a core or not, is Linearly related I think into infinity, u c...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

5 thin strands doing 10 turns each is the same inductance as 1 big strand doing the same 10 turns pretty much, as apposed to one thin strand doing 50 turns and greatly reduce the kv Inductance decides kv and the resistance produced is an unfortunate by-product. A correlation you find works in a spec...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

https://www.emetor.com/blog/post/bldc-machine-simulations/ I think inductance determines kv and resistance is just correlated. You could wind a motor with graphene, if you could get it, and have almost no resistance and if had let's say 30 turns before with copper and you did it with 30 of the graph...

Re: code to change the motor amp limit

simpler to compare results with different windings.
