Re: DRV8302 faults with FOC

Yes it's only true for MLCC capacitors. GOG or NPO are the best, but you can only find them in low values. Most of the time X8R, X7R, or X7S are far better than Z5U or Y5V. But even X7R (very common) are not always very good. So you have to find the "value vs DC voltage" (called DC bias) o...

Re: Motor shaft machining advices welcome.

Thanks for your answer.

I have succeeded in machining the shaft.

The axle was only hard in surface, so it was not to difficult with my insert Proxxon and Glanze tools.

Have a Nice Day.

Re: Motor shaft machining advices welcome.

Thank you for your answer.

I've just noticed that there are also ceramic cutting tools.

But I don't know where to buy at an acceptable price, any idea :?: :!:

Have a Nice Day.

Motor shaft machining advices welcome.

Can you give me some advices as I have to shorten and reduce the shaft diameter of a motor. It seems that the material used is extremely hard. Of course I've seen videos that shows to use a plastic bag with tape to prevent iron fillings to be attracted by the magnets. But what tool to use and how to...

I would be curious to test your algorithm on a real track.

Have a Nice Day.

Re: JST Part numbers

Be patient ;) ;) ;) I had the same problem 3 months ago, but it's better now. You have to learn the evolution of the old hardware 4.xx to 4.12, and the new one 6.xx. The most important thing is that the new VESC Tool is compatible with almost all versions of the HW. Benjamin has done a great work. F...

Re: JST Part numbers

I wish there was a better getting started/howto type document. With an open hardware design there are many people selling controllers with various options, all claiming to be the official vedders unit, with each trying to justify whatever margin they're making. Just finding the proper control softw...

Re: Separately excited motors

Could be also interesting for implementing field weakening better than with permanent magnets.

But it would be better to build a "3rd party" hardware.
