Re: 14S VESC ?

Hi Ecyclist, I love your work, very nice indeed :!: Unfortunately, the VESC 4.12 and 6 are limited by the DRV830X whose absolute maximum voltage is 60V. For safety reasons, if you use regen, you are more limited, and 13S is the maximum without risk. But several guys have developped their own version...

Re: VESC in homemade lathe/drill press

KV, S, P,... Disturbing, isn't it :?: :!: KV is a motor constant expressed in rpm/Volt. S means series, P means parallel, for Li-Ions cells (about 3.6-3.7V/Cell). Simple, isn't it ;) Have a look there for more infos http://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/start-here-faq-for-diy-electric-skateboard...

Re: Gate resistors in MOSFET

1. To limit the driver current.

2. To improve switching and stability, less ringing.

So it's very important.

Have a Nice Day.

Re: Turnigy SK3 6374 149 motor

If you have access to a LCR meter, please test R and L (phase to phase) with it to confirm manufacturers values. A small difference can be acceptable. But test your motor at least with a Power Supply (current limited to about 1Amp for example) and a simple multimeter to be sure you have about the sa...

Re: MINI compatible with VESC® Software

Thanks. Here is the link to the data viewer of TDK Components https://www2.tdk.co.jp/ccv/index.asp?lang=en . Choose agree > MLCC > Type the Part No. > Next. You'll find that this capacitor (CGA5L3X7S2A225K160AB) is -60% of it's value at 45V DC. However you circuit seems to work well and that's the m...

Re: MINI compatible with VESC® Software

I canno't help you for the small motor, sorry. Can you tell me the exact references of the MLCC capacitors you use in parallel because it is a very critical point :!: MLCC capacitors may have problems with DC bias, and some can loose more than 80% of their value for high voltages. Have a Nice Day. T...

Re: 4.12 "The firmware on the connected VESC is too old"

After Firmware 2.18 use VESC Tool instead of BLDC Tool.

Works fine and even allows you to go back to V2.18 to use BLDC Tool again :!:

Is it the V0.4 or the V0.5 that you tested on the videos :?: :!:

Re: Cheaper VESC for smaller brushless motor

Yes TI (among others) has several MOSFET with lower power, lower Qt, and so higher switching speed.

And you can use higher values of shunt.

Here in this forum (and in the new VESC forum) you'll find informations.

Have a Nice Day.
