Re: Battery overvoltage protection - dumb load

Good idea :!:

The resistor should dumb the "regen" power, so you have to calculate it.

It depends mostly of your hardware, of the downhill you're doing, and how "agressive" you're braking.

The VESC6 has a much higher erpm limit, but VESC4 get some extra erpm with the latest firmware.

From which version could the VESC4 have those extra erpm and how many erpm, please :?: :!:

Re: Calculating motor heating?

In your calculation you don't speak about cooling. 1. Cooling by the metallic mass of the motor. 2. Cooling by the speed that air-cool your hub. 3. Cooling if your motor use a fan (drone, skate,...) motors. Cooling is very important and you have to take it into account, but often it's very difficult...

Re: VESC FOC for a flywheel application....

VESC 6 seems to be reliable up to 100krpm.

Ready-to-use Trampa VESC6 is tested and reliable.

Re: Setting a speed (RPM) using UART

14 poles = 7 PP "Pole Pair".

571rpm x 7 PP = 3997erpm.

So that's right !
