Re: VESC6 firmware upgrade.

I haven't been able to flash via firmware on any of the recent stm32f4 I have. I'm unsure if it's the MCUs or my ST link on the discovery boards, the only way I can get firmware on is manually flashing with the ST link program in windows.

Re: VESC 6 voltage/design limits?

Efficiency doesn't bother me that much, lower voltages would mainly be for testing, having 80V minimum voltage is just annoying if you trying to configure it or testing various settings. 80V+ DC power supplies aren't common even if you have a 120v battery pack in an ebike you probably don't want to ...

Re: VESC 6 Beta

The website for the beta HAS activated and deactivated. A bunch of people were able to order the beta-version, more than expected so the beta program was closed again. Note that you don't want too many people in your beta: If you do, then you might have 20-40 or maybe 100 boards "in the field&...

Re: VESC 6 voltage/design limits?

I have a custom one running up to 80V. The two biggest issues are always current sense and a suitable voltage converter. Hall based current sense are slow while high end isolated solutions use delta sigma modulators or differential analogue outputs. At the moment I use LM5161 buck converters which w...

Re: About the VESC trademark

People complaining are being silly most major open source projects have trade marks and sell memberships or support. It only impacts anyone planning to sell them for a profit. If you're lucky you might get some MCU companies offering to do ports and license the trademark. A couple of them pay about ...
