Brand new VESC DRV error

Hello guys, I just installed a new VESC to replace the one I acidentaly short I was using a external 12v volt power supply, with all the voltages limits lowered, so no problem there. When i tried to detect the motor, it barely spun and immediately I got DRV error, since then every attempt to detect ...

Re: Only blue LED after ground short

Thanks rew, I will start diagnosing latter today to see if at least if is being fed, but the thing is, there wasn't high voltage involved, but the whole system got powered on via the signal ground

Re: DTC control

I also don't understand, but from some simulations, you can get a very linear torque curve with DTC, but i've never tried FOC, maybe the effect is the same

Only blue LED after ground short

So, i was happily diagnosing my system, a VESC + Arduíno with NRF radio, i had just found out the problem, had everything off when disaster happened I touched the Arduíno USB carcass and the battery input of the Antispark switch together with the oscilloscope probe, basically i powered the system on...

Re: Acceleration soft limit

I think it would need a lot of signal treatment, I will same the erpm measurements and derive the acceleration to see how much it oscillate

Another way would be to fit an inclinometer and make the current limits proportional to the road grade

Acceleration soft limit

Hello Benjamin, We are discussing in another forum (http://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/vesc-tuning-tips-for-rideability-taming-the-beast/15923/21) how can we configure the vesc to have a tame board that still has power to climb steep hill Messing around with the current limits we or loose pow...

DTC control

Hello Benjamin, We are having a discussion on another forum about the hub motors and the optimum control form, has been suggested that a direct torque control approach would be desirable for that application http://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/hub-motor-design-simulations/13112 Do you see that...

Re: Does current limits apply over UART?/Nunchuck App via UART

Found the answers myself, the limits apply, and just sae that on 2.10 the pull request is already incorporated

Does current limits apply over UART?/Nunchuck App via UART

Hello vedder, the title says all, i find the a little un-intuitive the available methods of control via UART, but for now it's ok, for exemple, if i send a request for 40A, and my limit on VESC is set on 30A for the motor and the battery and assuming a 100% duty cycle, will VESC limit it to 30A or t...

FOC on 6s

Hello vedder, just posting my progress with FOC, first thanks for this, it's amazing ride almost silently This is on firmware 2.8 So far all detection works normal, i can even ride normal, the only problem are with brakes, if i brake after maybe 1 second i get FAULT_CODE_DRV8302 and loose all brake ...
